Competition

Something that motivates my boys to do their little jobs is commenting on who is "winning" while doing a particular job. Lately Lee has been telling the boy who gets first place that they won the Piston Cup--the trophy from the Pixar movie "Cars". And the boy who wins second place (because both of our boys are winners!) gets plata--silver in Spanish.

Pause: the word plato in Spanish is plate--like a dinner plate.

The other day Clark was telling Steph or Lois that he was fast and won the Piston Cup and Cal won a plate. It was so funny! Clark was saying: "Why does Cal get a plate?"

One time I told Cal that he got silver, but he didn't want to "win" silver. He wanted the plate.
