Babysitting + Carpet

Shanna has been practicing dutch braiding on her own!  I love it!

For the upcoming 4th of July I made a simple stencil with cardstock.  Sponged on some white t-shirt paint and voila!

For a couple of days we hung out at the Peterson's so David and Katherine could go on a little get-away. One morning my friend Connie met me at the park.

Cal and Christian pulled two all nighters.... The kids were excited to have a sleep over of sorts.

Jack eventually warmed up to me.

One afternoon we did an outing to Sherando Lake for a couple of hours.  Since we had more than 8 people I had to pay for each person individually.  I was not happy about that.  If you have 8 people or under, you pay a flat rate for a vehicle.  If you have more you have to pay per person which makes it much more expensive!

My friend Rebekah Aidukaitis met me at this outing which was super fun.

A couple of times I was at the office at night.  It was great because after work Lee would meet me at the Peterson's house.  We were there just 2 and 1/2 days...if I remember right.

The next big project coming up for us was getting things ready for the carpet guys!!!  I painted my heart out that weekend.  Then Monday morning I got up about 1am or so and went over and painted well into the late afternoon.  I didn't get it all done, but thankfully I didn' have a lot of pain drips to clean up.  And small fresh paint spots scrubbed out of the new carpet pretty well.

Ta da!!!  It looks so great!  Very frustraitingly, the guy installed the pattern wrong.  It looked good so we didn't say anything, but we did tell him THREE TIMES which way we wanted the carpet tiles to be laid. Ugh.

But oh, it looks so much better with carpet!

We got new carpet on the top porch portion too!  Soon we'll get the steps power washed!

Father's Day and Summer Fun

The building renovation is in full swing, but with school out we snuck away for some summer fun! We renewed our yearly passes for Kings Dominion again. Christian and Xavier tagged along with us for this day's adventures.

We met up with the Shepherd family as well.  Tac hung out with us for the last part.

With all this cereal it's either Father's Day or Lee's birthday!  Today was Father's Day.  I had the kids fill out an info sheet about Lee.  And of course I bought a bunch of cereal (and some milk!) and treats.

We headed to PA for church and the rest of the day.

Cal and Eric are "da boss's" right hand men.

Time to be with cousin's at Darrell's!

Ahhh summer.  I love your warmth and color!  And you need a skit or two as well.

Always great to talk with Elder Robertson!  It's a highlight of our week!

Happy Father's Day Dad!

Elder Robertson recieved his all Japanese missionary name tag.  Pretty awesome!

More painting and painting and painting!  Oh and Lee added a wall as well.  Smart move too.  I'm glad we did. It was not in the original plan to do this.  Lee added the framing and drywall, then a guy did the mudding.

A random fruit & cucumber smoothie by Shanna.

The sinks were installed too!

More stuff in the bathroom.

One of my favorite things this summer was all of us working in the office together.  We all put in a lot of hours down there.

The wall!  It required extra mudding and sanding but we eventually got it right.

The toilet installed!

And we have lights, Virginia!
