HAPPY BIRTHDAY CLARK!
A week ago Sunday, it was Clark's 5th birthday. When I asked him what he wanted to eat for his birthday dinner he replied: "Bread, oatmeal, and rice with milk." Wow, easy dinner! We made him rice and milk, but used the rest of the rice for a different dish for everyone else.
Cal really got the birthday celebration going that morning by dropping a gallon of milk on the floor. The indented side of the jug burst open and we lost about 90% of the gallon. We had to move the fridge to clean up the milk that ran under there. Glad that doesn't happen every Sunday morning!
Clark really likes the movie Thomas and the Magic Railroad. He wanted the "Lost Engine" for a birthday cake.
Here is our version:
We forgot the eyebrows...
It is really fun working with marshmallow fondant to make birthday cakes! Get the recipe here: Marshmallow Fondant
It is really easy to make, and lasts a long time. I think one batch is good for two birthday cakes. If you do make it and want to color the fondant, I suggest using gel food coloring. You can buy it at Walmart in the craft section, and I am sure you can buy it at a similar place like Michaels or Hobby Lobby.
Daniel and Amy came over for dinner and the birthday party. Sam was with us as well.

Lizzy, Clark and Cal. You can see Cal is really excited for Clark's birthday too!
The girls enjoyed the coal--smashed Oreos.
Clark had fun telling anyone at church that it was his birthday and he was 5.
Since the cake wasn't super big, I made cupcakes, and put out frosting and different sprinkles for everyone to decorate their own.

That cake is sooooooooo impressive. For Camden's b-day I just put candybar then put horses on top. Ummmmmm, you're putting me to shame. :)
