Kid Christmas

So the last night at home before leaving for Tennessee the kids had their own Christmas.  We did not give our kids gifts this year.  Instead we gave them each money that they had to spend on a service project of their creation.  Some kids donated to the school we worked at in Nicaragua, one did a secret Santa for a friend, and another bought needed items for a youth/teen shelter in our area.  BUT the kids did buy each other presents!   A bit of miscommunication happened as our kids thought we were doing a full on Christmas morning/day recreation--just without gifts.  I didn't not realize this was their expectation because we were going to celebrate all of the Christmas fun in Tennessee.  Just with no gifts.  So I did a little and we had pumpkin pie that was frozen from last Christmas, haha.  And then they lined up and we brought them in one by one to see their stockings.  We put a little treat in them that we had bought in Nicaragua.

I love it when the house is all decorated for Christmas!

Cal, I mean "Quick-y Claus" dropped in to give the kids strawberry Nesquik.

Time for presents!

Elden asked for money, so that is what Shanna gave him.  But I think he regretted it as he didn't have a toy or something to play with.

Christmas is almost here!
