Last Days of Summer

We enjoyed the last few days of summer. Even though summer break ended, summer doesn't technically end till the first day of fall.

Our friends invited people over for a bbq.  I love this picture of Graham leaning in on Clark.  And Clark isn't moving.

Shanna created this cute poster.

We did a late birthday celebration for Clark with his friends at the bowling alley.  But it was a bust. The bowling was super busy, so we decided not to go there, got ice cream and went home.

We all went together, but drove separately.

Lee likes to tease me that I am older than him.  It was pretty funny when his mom sent him a 40th birthday card, even though he had just turned 39.  Haha, Lee you are older than me!

Enjoying the nice summer night for Clark's marching band competition.  This is JMU's marching band that performed at the end.  I was at a Relief Society activity so I missed out.

Clark played the synthesizer for marching band.

I headed up to the temple on a Wednesday by myself.  It was the only good day to go. But always a good day to go to the temple!  It was fun because my dad rides in with someone who works at the temple every Wednesday.  I got to go to a session with my dad.

We like to go and see Clark perform at all the home football games.

Haley planned a special date with Lee.  They made a cookie pizza.

Lee has found some chocolate milk very close to the yummy chocolate milk of Halo Farms.

Lee took some kids to a car show at the community center.  They had fun looking at the cool cars.

Pretty summer nights...

Lee also switched his office around.  It is quite a small office space, but he is very busy there, which is awesome.  This room below used to be his exam room, which is very large.  He switched it and made it his waiting room.  That way more people can fit in it and hopefully make the rest of the office flow better.

He also hired another employee and put her in the old waiting room.  In his new office, two employees were in there.  One he put upstairs where vision therapy is at, and then the other he had go in the old contact lens room, which is now just his office.  Of course to do all of that required a lot of work and several hours of moving.

He put in a new sink as well.

We met up for a day of service with the other ward and cleaned up the river banks of a river in downtown Harrisonburg.

We found lots of random junk!

Of course it's fall football time as well!  Haley made some "BYU" popcorn.

Here is Clark after taking the ACT.  He did pretty good on it considering he never studied, which is what we planned.  We told him to just go and take it and see how it went.

Cal created a fun word find for home church.

Shanna took ballet for a month but then wanted to stop. Not sure why. Maybe she'll tell me when she's older.

Shanna made her own little cookie pie, but with a tortilla.

One evening we went to Riven Rock park to enjoy a last summer evening.

Clark likes giving his instruments a bath occasionally.

Clark's band won first place at a competition!  It was so cool to hear about!

The boys had a court of honor as well.  We got to see pictures from scout camp, Nesquik included. They also received a lot of merit badges and Clark received his bronze palm!

So sad that summer is coming to a close.  But that makes it even more exciting when the season comes back around!  I'll just have to wait out the cold months....
