Philadelphia Temple Dedication

In September we continued our travels and headed back up to Pennsylvania again to drop off Jessica and Lisa and to attend the Philadelphia temple open house. We attended the open house the end of August.  During the open house everyone can walk through the temple on a guided tour.  It was so awesome being in there with my whole family.  After a temple is dedicated, then only worthy members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints may enter.  This picture is not mine but from the church website, click here. You can look at all of the beautiful temples there are around the world!  Of course all are welcome to learn more about our church, gain a testimony and someday enter the temple themselves!

For the temple dedication we went to a local meeting house, which temporarily served as an extension of the temple.  Everyone that came to the dedication needed a recommend--kind of like a permission slip, and had to be at least 8.  We all went, except Elden; he's only 7.

After the dedication we eventually headed out to a pavilion on City Island in Harrisburg to eat lunch, and then walked around near the rental townhouse where Darrell and Stacie temporarily lived.

We took a little Sunday drive and saw the house that Darrell and Stacie bought.  We couldn't go in it, but it was fun seeing the outside!  I went up a couple weeks later to help Stacie paint for a couple hours.  I received a fun house tour then.

We loved attending the temple dedication.  We are so blessed to have temples so close to us!  And, Darrell and Stacie are only 3 hours away, instead of 5!!!  Woo hoo!
