Funky's

Every year the two wards and Spanish Branch in our area hold a combined activity at Funky's--a skating rink.  Funny enough, we've never been, even with everything being free!  (We love free around here.)  Our first year here (as I've mentioned before and will still mention in the future) was tight financially.  So tight that we didn't want to spend the gas money to go to Harrisonburg the first time we heard about the activity.  The second year someone was sick.  But we finally made it this year!

Elden even joined in the fun!

Shanna, Haley and Elden used these most of the night.  After Lee and I skated around with Elden he got one of these walker/rollers and went off all by himself.

We had a fun time and will be going next year as long as no one is sick!  At the end Elden was very sad that we were leaving.  He kept crying and crying and didn't want to leave.  We were in the lobby for a little bit and one of the workers gave Elden a thing of fruit snacks. Elden of course stopped crying when he got the fruit snacks, but Lee and I weren't thrilled (more of an eye roll, not angry) with the negative reinforcement--not so much though that we were going to take the fruit snacks away from him.  It was nice of the guy to give Elden the fruit snacks, just not something we would have done.  Anyway...side note.

School was out for three days this week: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday.  It was icy and snowy on Monday.  The cold temperatures on Tuesday and Wednesday kept things icy and messy. We didn't really do much, just hung out. On Monday the boys shoveled at Lee's office to earn money.  I wasn't feeling super hot since I had a cold.  Wednesday we did go to Harrisonburg for a young women's meeting and then did a little shopping.  It was fun having the days off.  Though I am sure our now-down-to-one-day-spring-break is gone. It actually isn't bothering me really because we didn't have plans anyway.

On Tuesday Haley spent quite a bit of time making this fun paper race track.
