We are getting some snow this winter! The most we've had in a really long time! I took the golf car out one day for some errands. It's fun going through the bank drive-thru.
We've had a pretty active text thread since Christmas with Sheldon and Ciera. I looked for a GIF one day and it didn't have it!
Some guys in our ward started a book club and Lee is participating. The "manly" snacks that night. Lee told me that his friend put it all together. I later talked to his wife and she said she actually did most of it, haha.
My friend Brittany gave me this cute salt cellar. She gave it to the kids at seminary one morning before Christmas and said it was a birthday gift. They told Lee about it, and he forgot. On my birthday Brittany brought up the gift to me and I was wracking my brain trying to remember what she got me. But I totally couldn't remember. I asked the kids about it and they said they put it on the table. I thought maybe I opened it but just couldn't remember what it was because of all the holiday busyness and guests. I thought maybe my mind would just think about it and would remember. But I couldn't. Then one night Lee was getting something off his night stand and saw a wrapped gift...my birthday gift haha.
Work time at the office!
Night sledding. It's been really cold out and the snow is sticking around! We're not used to that in Virginia.
We had several days off of school. One day we did waffles for breakfast. Elden used the mini waffle maker he won at the Christmas game.
And since the kids had the day off, I enlisted their help and we got all of the Christmas decor put away. Sad to clean it up! And next year I'll have only Elden to help me!
We enjoyed a hike one afternoon. It was actually quite nice to walk in the snow!
Stony Man Overlook. Eric came down for the day because he didn't have school either. It was very fun! Joey came too.
Haley can get hot cocoa for about $1 a cup at the general store at Massanutten because she's an employee. She is working at the ski/snowboard rental shop. They did a hot cocoa run.
Pizza time!
So good. Haley makes a mean margherita pizza!
Indoor track!
We are getting a Buc-ees!!!! It's about 35 minutes from our house and should be done the end of June. So excited!
We did a taste test one night. Overall the Aldi chocolate covered cookies won.
Skyjo! Shanna's hand at the very end!
Elden wanted to make a strawberry cake....so he did!
Great times talking with Elder Robertson. We love hearing about his week, the miracles he's seen God perform, gospel study that stood out to him last week, and just talking!
So fun seeing what the guests say. Thankfully it's pretty much all been good. We've been pretty busy since Jan 1 and I'm so excited about that!
Ah, good 'ol chocolate drink. I would make this fairly often when the kids were younger. Chocolate pudding mix, spinach, ice and milk.
Craft time.
Went to the temple with Bryleigh, Annmarie, Miko, Shanna and Joey.
More skiing!
Elden screwed in some holds to hand his sword that Sheldon bought him for Christmas.
You know....helicopters on a truck bed going through town....
Haley made chicken tacos with homemade pita bread!
Haley got some sushi at Martin's!
I have these shirts for everyone except Elder Robertson so I went ahead and made him one. I'll keep it in the Christmas stuff.
Hello Elder Robertson!
Haha, Elden photoshopped onto Elder Uchtdorf.
Fun track photos!
I thought this was cute...Shanna made banana bread for one of her friends at school as a birthday gift. So sweet!
Bought these at Costco...waste of money! Hot Hands brand is SOO much better.
I bought some containers on Amazon and did a little organizing. Doesn't look much different but it's helpful having stuff in bins!
Biscuits and gravy made by Haley. SO good!
Morning temple picture right before our shift!
Book time. Love it.
There is a new restaurant in Harrisonburg called First Watch. It's a breakfast/brunch/lunch place. We met up for Jes Fitt's birthday, some of us. I just got a side of potatoes. They were really yummy, but it took them over 45 minutes to get us our food.
It's always interesting seeing what the renters leave behind. We had a single guy stay one weekend and he left some food. I threw it away, because I'm not about to eat someone else's leftovers! And he left the apartment in great condition. Better yet we didn't have to do anything with the twin beds!
Cheesey cheese.
