FSY! June Close-out

Wow, being in Africa meant half the month passed by the time we got home! I had a grand plan of the kids cooking dinner a lot this summer...which didn't really happen because I didn't stick with it. But Elden made yummy lasagna one night!

YES! New sidewalks here! And so new that there weren't any before in these areas. So excited especially because I run in these areas and now I don't have to run on the road.

Shanna and Elden struck a deal. Shanna could cut Elden's hair if Elden could do Shanna's makeup.

We had fun at our friend's lake house at Lake Anna. We rented a boat, as did they and we had a fun day on the water.

The problem with our boat...only 60 horsepower. It was so slow. So slow. And the only boats they have at this marina are only 60 horsepower. I really liked their marina, but too slow to rent from there again. Though I have a rental for July 3rd that we're just going to keep.

When we got back we saw this painful site....the boat is supposed to be in the water....not on the ramp. Ouch! Such an expensive problem. We heard they were going to have to get a semi tow truck to get that boat up off the ramp. And the marina staff thought they had seen everything......

We had a fun jaunt up to Maryland to celebrate Rhett and Jack's birthdays.

I took Haley, Shanna, Elden and Annabella to FSY in Buena Vista. It was fun seeing where they would stay for the week.

It was a weird week with just me and Lee! We want to be excited for no kids at home in 3 years, but we aren't there yet. It turned out to be quite a busy week, so definitely not a relaxing one!

A little tip....you can buy stamps on eBay! Search rolls of 100. I bought both of these for about $30 total....$15 each.

Exciting happenings at the office...we are getting a fence to block off the shed and propane tank!

While the kids were away we did have some fun....like picking up Appalachian Trail hikers at Food Lion! I thought there were just two girls, but they had a guy friend with them as well. I offered to bring them to the trail, which is just a few minutes from our house. Then I offered them to use our basement to wash clothes and relax. They were SO happy! When I dropped them off they were thanking me and I told the girl in the blue shirt that I was just trying to be a disciple of Christ. She said you're doing a good job.

Our neighbor boy, Ethan, was driving around his remote controlled car. I loved the bear attached to it, haha.

Hard to tell, but the first 3 letters on the license plate are WWG. My high school acronym!

Haha, this was funny. I saw it at Food Lion. And then near my house. Guess it was our neighbor McKayla's car.

So pretty! I think this was from Lee's bike ride.

Our neighbors Kayla and Cole had a baby boy and I brought over dinner. Veggie pizza. Made a little for me and Lee too.

Did some homemade freezer jam too.

I put together some candy guessing containers for the upcoming reunion.

I also helped my friend Teri clean her house for a little while one day as well while the kids were away. We picked up the kids early Saturday morning--6am--to go to the temple. Pickup was at 7am so not too far off. I thought it was so sweet that most of their FSY group got up really early to visit and send off Shanna and Haley.
