Ely->Utah->Home

We made it to Ely in 2023!

We had church that morning and then hung out at Lee's parent's house.  We decided not to camp this summer and just slept at their house.

All of the bikes made it too!  The morning we left Banff, we did a bump and one of the bikes fell off.  Thankfully it wasn't too bad.

The kids enjoyed funny human panoramas.

We did a couple bike rides too.  It was fun to go on trails that Lee's dad had made.

Went to Economy Drug for Lime Rickey's or whatever treat the kids wanted.

Took Grandpa's ATV out for some spins.

We fired up the dirtbike as well.  I think we are going to sell it next summer.

The ATV ran out of gas when Shanna and Haley were out for a drive.  They had to push it up a pretty steep hill too. Shanna was able to switch the tank over to the reserve gas and they made it home.

We also did a ride from Ward Mountain campground.  Lynn and Marv and Paul and Cindy were camped up there.

While in Ely one must visit the mayor!  Well, he's our nephew so we wanted to see his office,

We stopped by Bath Lumber as well to buy a couple lawn chairs.  The kids were sitting on one or two and they just broke...they are pretty old.  We picked up a couple new ones for Lee's parents.  Haley bought this hot sauce.  We also stopped at Sportsworld.

One evening we had dinner and dessert out at the campground. The kids made a fun fairy type land too.

Elden and Cal got to take Lynn and Marv's ATV's on a spin.  Normally they don't let kids ride them at all, so it was pretty cool that Marv said yes!

The little fairly land...or maybe just nature center?

We had a nice visit in Ely.  We headed out really early one morning and did a little stop at BYU. Have to hit up the bookstore!  We ran into Indya Wilson which was super fun.

Lunch at the creamery next!  Saw Jana Bailey, one of Deb's friends from Iowa.

Next stop, we headed north Pleasant Grove to visit the Jepsen's.  Clark served with their son, Elder Jepsen and I thought it would be fun to meet their parents.  Harold took us for a spin in this cool car... it's been in the family since it was brand new!

Gena Jepsen.

We hit up a couple stores...we bought Cal's temple things and garments in Utah.  Some stores didn't have everything, so we stopped at a Deseret Bookstore.  I also ran into a grocery store to buy some Kerrygold butter.  Gena gave us the most divine sour dough bread!

We hung out at Roger's house that evening.  Sam was in town so it was fun to see him too.  We stayed till about 9am and then left. Lee picked up Little Caesar's for dinner and then took a nap so he could drive first. Time to head home! Sam's car rental.  Pretty sweet.

With Lexie and Riley!

We drove straight home....30 hours later.  Made it to Elkton all in one piece AND the Chevy didn't break down in the middle of nowhere Canada!

This watermelon came with us all the way from trek to Utah back to Ely. Ha!
