Snowshoe Trip!

Maybe the next few posts will be about skiing and snow....we did a lot of that this winter!

One night Cal was washing dishes and chatting with his cousin Eric. Eric was washing dishes too.  Too funny!  My kids each have a night to do dishes and Cal took over Sundays when Clark left.

We made Valentine boxes!

It's nice having good weather here and there during the winter to go outside and play.

Another car wash!!!

I have wanted to go to Snowshoe and spend the night, but we never have done it.  It's just SO expensive! We took the plunge this winter and reserved a room at Silver Creek.  It was so fun skiing for two days and staying up on the mountain.  We ate at Cheat Mountain Pizza.

At Silver Creek there was an indoor/outdoor pool.  And a hot tub.  https://youtu.be/Bcv4gKEAgIo

Lee showed us how to play chickenfeet dominoes.  The Olympics were happening so we also watched some of that which was really fun.

We ate at the Boathouse again.

After getting Haley in her room I started on another project...painting the family room. I had purchased paint for touch-ups but it didn't match. After years of doing touch-ups here and there, it just needed a fresh new coat.

We also started two other projects...we went through the attic again and cleaned out downstairs cupboards and storage areas. We got rid of our computer cabinet too!  I've been looking for a new one, but then got the idea of just cleaning it out and getting rid of it.  The main thing we were using it for was for our internet filter and wifi. We had to figure out where to put that.  And getting rid of the computer cabinet meant that our thermostat would be right on the wall in an awkward place. We bought a new thermostat and relocated it!

Cal and Elden were projecting images on the wall with a magnifying glass.

It's an image of our neighbors work truck from across the street.

Hanging out at home!

We had waffles one morning...

My friend Janet brought by these cute flowers and cookies for Valentine's Day!  That was so fun.

The kids built a snow fort....here it is in melting stage.

The beginning of Februaray Shanna got Covid! She was not feeling so hot and coughing on a Sunday, but we didn't think much of it.  She felt worse that night and I had her stay home from school on Monday.  When the kids came home from school I had Shanna go upstairs and not be around her.  Then Tuesday morning she woke up really early and felt horrible.  I thought on Sunday it was just a cold, but it became worse as it progressed. Tuesday morning she took a Covid test and before even one minute had passed it showed up positive.  Lee took a test and was negative so he went to work.  Cal had a runny nose on Wednesdsay so I had him take a test and that was negative.  The kids stayed home from seminary, but the school nurse said that everyone but Shanna could go to school.  She told me that Shanna should stay home from school 7 days. We made Shanna stay up in her room.  She could come down to take a shower when I was gone on errands or running.

We had home church with Shanna over Zoom, plus scripture studies on Zoom, or over the phone.

Elden doing some photo copy art with Cal.

Thankfully Shanna was the only on that got Covid! What a winter so far!
