Thanksgiving

Wow, Thanksgiving 2020 arrived.  And family arrived too!  We weren't sure what to do, but ended up hosting Thanksgiving for Lena and Deb and their families.  Governor Northam said that only 25 people could gather for social events. It made it tricky with Darrell's family.  His son Eric had been at his friend's house and his friend's brother tested postive for COVID so we weren't sure what to do about that.  But I found out it had been two weeks since Eric had been in quarantine.  In the end we didn't get together with them, but hopefully will at New Year's.

The Ereksons and Bunkers arrived the Monday before Thanksgiving and we were able to celebrate Mike's birthday.  They stayed for the afternoon and then were off for a family vacation at nearby resorts.

Cal wrote to the Nesquik plant or somehwere and they sent him a letter and two coupons for Nesquik.

Some Oreo's were backwards.......

I picked up some snacks at Costco to make goodie bags for everyone for their trip home. The kids enjoyed some of the extras.  Twinkies have been dubbed "twiddily dums" by Cal.

Monday night we decorated for Christmas. It seems to always take a little while, but I'm glad we got it all done Monday night and before Thanksgiving.  I never feel like Christmas decorations are up long enough and when Thanksgiving is over it's so nice to have everything already ready for Christmas.

Fun with friends!  Cal and Elden's

Thanksgiving came!  Shanna organized a game of "Among Us" and the kids loved it. We had dinner at the church.

It was so gorgeous outside that day.  Upper 60s to low 70s. Perfection!

Deborah decorated the tables which is always so fun.

Mike (I think) brought in the hand sanitizer from the front area, haha.  We all pitched in with the meal.  It wasn't as grand as past years, but it was a feast none the less.

Each Thanksgiving we go around and say three things we are thankful for.  My parents and some of my sisters got on zoom and joined in as well as some of Darrell's family. There may have been more participants but I can't remember. This Thanksgiving President Nelson issued a challenge to share what we are grateful for for 7 days on social media and to experience the healing power of gratitude.  Lee and I enjoyed participating in that.  We also tried to have the kids say what they were grateful each night since they aren't on social media.  Not till age 18 or later! We forgot some nights, but for the most part remembered.

My dad said the blessing over zoom for us which was really nice.  Time to eat!

More "Among Us" pictures.  "Among Us" actually happened after dinner, so the pictures above are out of place.

I actually cleaned out the Relief Society closet on Thanksgiving.  It was weird seeing the newsletters in the binders that we hand out....frozen in time.....   COVID changed so many things.

After we cleaned up, which took awhile because I had the not-so-bright idea to use dishes from the church, we walked over to Hillendale park and hung out for a little bit.  Then we came back and had pie and some games and visiting!

We all came back to my house for food and visiting, a fire and some motorcycle rides.

Thanksgiving night Mike did a magic show over zoom, which was really fun.  Hope you all had a good Thanksgiving whatever form it was in!
