The Final Wedding

It's done!  All 10 of my siblings are married!  I am sure my mom is breathing a sigh of relief...especially since there are no more weddings for her to personally deal with, ha ha.  As I mentioned in my previous post, my youngest brother and sibling, Sheldon, was married over Thanksgiving weekend--the day after actually.  I had a great time, despite being sick.  I enjoyed meeting Ciera, being with my family and visiting my friend Shanna and her husband. See the above post for the Thanksgiving happenings.

Friday morning Roger took me to the temple so I could do some initiatories.  Later that morning I was back at the temple for Sheldon's sealing.  In the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, husband and wife are married for time and eternity.  We can be sealed as an eternal family as long as we are true to our promises and covenants--basically as long as we are following Christ, repenting of our sins, and serving others, we can receive this amazing blessing.  There are certain steps to take to enter the temple, just as one has to go through a certain process to obtain a driver's license.  A teenager just can't get a license--there are steps that need to be taken.  All are welcome to come to the temple, but certain steps must first be taken.

All 10 of us siblings and my parents were in the temple that day for Sheldon's wedding--it was GREAT!  Though three of the siblings' spouses couldn't attend because of other obligations, they too are worthy to enter.  It was an amazing day for all of, but most of all I think for my mom and my dad.  You two are awesome!  We kids are blessed with wonderful parents!

Well, on to the pictures!  There are LOTS of them.....enjoy!

Basically it was just our two families celebrating the wedding that day--it actually was quite nice.  Ciera and her family recently moved to Rexburg, so they didn' have a reception there.  After the wedding we enjoyed a yummy lunch my parents arranged.  Cute decorations Steph!

Lee has a McDonald's tie that he bought in Nicaragua, of all places. Matt wore it for the wedding.
Pretty funny.

After the luncheon Darrell to me out to the Shirley's home. Shanna Shirley taught a couple of my classes at Rick's and my last term there she let me and another friend live at her house. Shanna and her husband went on a trip to Israel and my friend Maria and I stayed to help "watch" their daughter who was in 6th grade at the time I believe. I loved staying at their home and think the Shirley's are great! That is where I got the name Shanna for my Shanna. She is named after a great lady. My Shanna likes to call her "the Grandma Shanna". We had a great time visiting and catching up. It's been several years since I've seen them. Nov 23, 2012 Mack & Shanna Shirley

I think we enjoyed relaxing and visiting so much, that we forgot to decorate Ciera's car. That night we headed out to the Dollar Tree to pick up supplies. Nov 23, 2012 Daniel 7 Lois Dollar Tree

That night we enjoyed ice cream at Deb's hotel room and had fun visiting.  The next day we headed down to Provo.  Darrell and I visited Jonathan and Sonia, our cousins, and then had lunch at Stephanie's apartment.  We then headed to the BYU Bookstore.  I saved up some playmoney and had a lot of fun spending it there!  And it being the weekend after Thanksgiving there was a great sale--20% off EVERYTHING in the store, plus Steph had her student ID which made things tax free too. After eating at the Creamery, we went to a BYU basketball game.  It was so fun!  I would love to take my kids to one sometime.

The next day, Sunday, I rode up to Salt Lake with Daniel and Amy.  They rented an Armada and boy, it made me want an SUV even more.  I loved it! We attended Music & the Spoken Word.  I've never been to a live broadcast before, and I enjoyed it immensely.  After, we stopped at the North Visitors' Center for a little bit.  After we had the sacrament at a Wymount ward, we went back to Stephanie's.

That afternoon Steph and Andy took us to the airport and we headed out for Baltimore.  We got home late and I pulled in around 3am.  It was a good trip, but with being sick, I was glad to be home. Lee bought flowers for me which was so sweet!  That morning before doing family scripture reading Clark pointed out the flowers to me.  He was surprised that I hadn't noticed them. It was pretty funny. In my own defense, I don't normally prowl around the house at 3am looking for flowers.  Sorry Clark. Thanks Lee!  Another trip....home safely. Congrats Sheldon and Ciera!
