A patient brought in some amazing chocolates! This guy is local and sells them at a shop in Staunton or you can buy directly from him. He doesn't take orders though and just makes what he wants. They are so fancy!
I had fun too putting together some Easter baskets for Lee's team members.
It's cute seeing the kids walk in to seminary wrapped up in blankets.
The new Buc-ees about a half hour from our house!
We stopped at a Walmart on the way down and got ice cream (I think we did haha) and some other trip items.
We stayed on Tybee Island at Hotel Tybee. Our first main activity was a bus tour around Savannah.
Overall the bus tour was good. I didn't like some of the lady's comments. There were kids on the tour...sheesh. But it was a quick way to get an overview of Savannah in about 1.5 hours.

For lunch we ate at an historic home, now restaurant, The Pink House. It was good and fun that you could roam around the house. I am glad we went once but we wouldn't go again.
After Savannah we went to the beach by the hotel. One the way from Savannah to Tybee Island we passed SEVERAL cop cars. Probably 30 or more. Haley google why there were so many cop cars. They were anticipating a spring break event called Orange Crush. Never heard of it! I forgot to bring Elden an air mattress so ran to Walmart quick then met everyone else at the beach.
The hotel had free bikes so we went on a little ride. I would have liked to go longer, but Haley and Elden didn't want to.
I wanted to walk out on the pier but the cops closed it early due to Orange Crush.
Ha, the messy hotel room!
That night we walked to the grocery store for a treat. Barricades were everywhere along both sides of the street. Even a gas station closed early and put out caution tape everywhere to block their pumps and store. It was like people were getting ready for a snow storm. Crazy. The cop at the pier told me that it would take 2-3 hours to get off the island the next day. It only takes 20 minutes. Instead of hanging out at the beach the next day we decided to leave about 9am.
Part of Easter week we did a sunrise devotional and read The Living Christ. I wanted to do the devotional on Sunday, but we'd be driving home at 6:30am. This worked out really well!
After breakfast and loading up we decided to walk around Savannah. Such a great town.
Forsyth Fountain.
This was a choreographed yoga session. The main leader would do a move and more people would join in. I'm sure it was for Instagram or YouTube or something.
A palm tree growing out of a tree.
Walt Disney grew up in this house! The tour guide the previous day pointed out that the Haunted Manion at Disney is similar. So true! Too bad the Disney company isn't what it was!
We stopped at Clary's quick for a few pastries.
We had some extra time before the swamp tour. Jekyll Island it is! We went to Driftwood beach, a sand dune beach and drove around. Ate lunch there too at a parking lot haha.
We went to the sea turtle sanctuary too. Can you believe this thing was once living?!
It was discovered in the Black Hills of South Dakota. So mind blowing!
We saw some sea turtles as well and bought Haley a sticker.
The sand dune beach.
Haha, awesome van!
We decided to go out to eat at a little establishment in Folkston, GA. The place we went to was closed. A guy was there, wondering why it was closed. He told us he was going to Black River instead. So we did too. So yummy!
The bathroom. Pretty hilarious!
The toast was so yummy....
Sweet ride!
We finally made it!!! Okefenokee Swamp! We loved the tour. Downside was the guy went over. We should have been back at 8:30pm, but we weren't back till 9:00pm. Ugh.
Can you spot the yellow and black stripes? They are baby alligators. We saw several of them!
We made it home! Whew! About 7:20am, Easter Sunday! Jack made this cute letter for me.
Elden made sugar cookies!
Our Passover Meal! My friend Elizabeth Peters sent me a script that her friend wrote to narrate the meal. It went well for our first time....and lots of mishaps!
I completely forgot to buy grape juice so I colored some clear Gatorade with purple food coloring but it didn't work....
Our handsome Elden!
Oh and when we arrived home we saw this! So cute!!! We are sure who "egged" our door, but we think it was the Lorimers. Whoever it was left treats too.
Elden's emoji from Hill Cumorah.
Back the the beach....I love my family so much! This random trip was so fun!
One reason we stopped at Walmart was to get a toaster. I brought some bagels for breakfast and wanted to toast them. This toaster was only $5. Sweet. Haley will now get to bring it to college!
The pier we never went on!
