The first part of summer break Clark and Elden tagged along with Lee for a bike ride. They were soaked and Elden loved it!
If I remember right I think one of the office ladies, Miranda, made this for Shanna and Haley for a fun graduation gift. I need to look back in pictures....can't remember!
One last school activity...Shanna's state track meet! It was at Liberty. She cleared 9', but wasn't able to get higher that day. She just seems to vault well in the dark!
We stated till the end and watched the last competitor. I think she jumped 12'??? Shanna had a terrific track high school "career"!
We stopped by Jude Randall's graduation party that he held at a friend's place. WOW. It was so cool!
Then we headed up to Eric's grauation party!!! So fun.
We had another trip up to Urbana to celebrate Jack and Rhett's birthdays. Shanna and Haley had a young adult activity so didn't come up.
Earlier before going to Urbana we had stake conference. It was fun that Christian spoke!
Some pickleball action with the Lorimers!
A cool car...
Elden lookin' good!
Elden went to his first interview--at Food Lion! Sadly he didn't get the job. But his friend Michael across the street did, haha. Elden has talked to a couple of farmers as well. It's going to be hard to find a job this summer, especially with all the travel we are going to do. So I'm thinking of things each day for him to do.
We got to see Christian open his mission call! He's going to the Salt Lake City South Mission, Spanish Speaking!
A little bit of shopping! Lee and I are on the food team for youth conference....Hopefully it goes well! That is the next big thing....
These people set up the skeleton last October or the one before. They leave it up all year and decorate it throughout the seasons. This is was for graduation time!
Youth conference is here! We are going to Palmyra NY. So excited for the kids!
The youth rode in vans in families on the way up. Elden was with his buddies Spencer and Egan which was fun. His parents were Craig and Allana Smith. Shanna was with Seth and Megan Stratford and Haley was with Shar and Lee Lorimer. It was fun seeing the decorated vans on the way up!
After all of my reminders to the kids about what to bring...I totally forgot a hoodie. Found this at Walmart for $7. On the way up we stopped there for a few things and did a big shopping trip at Aldi about 45 minutes from the camp.
Lots of food! Heather Harman gave us a lot the night before at the church to haul up.
The church camp!
Lots of food prep! It went well. We gave them sack lunchs to eat on the way up for Thursday. And we didn't have to have anything ready till Thursday evening. Then 3 meals Friday, and breakfast and lunch on Saturday. So not too bad. I think in the end we should have bought more food....But I think no one was completely hungry!
Friday lunch was hosted at the pavilion at the stake center. I'm so glad we went to Palmyra in April because we didn't have the time to see anything. It was fun the boys did an impromtu ball game.
Shanna was pretty good at the stick pull. Though Abbie Hunt totally beat her!
With the food team! So glad Lee and I were able to do this together. We found out Thurday night that I was supposed to sleep in a cabin with some other ladies. I did not know about that. Forrest Johnson had a tent and let us sleep in that. Then Friday night we slept in a storage room, haha, off the kitchen.
ALL DONE. Lots of chopping, cleaning, etc! Lee cut 15+ watermelons. Ahhh....so glad we are done! Haley rode home us. Shanna and Elden decided to stay with their families which is fun.
We stopped at Watkins Glen on the way home!
We also stopped quick to see my dad breifly to wish him a happy Father's Day.
Pick up at the church. Shanna's family!
A fun note!
See the time on the clock? So late....made a cranberry pie to bring to church for Father's Day....
Yep, we're beat.
Not too much down time! I brought Shanna and Haley to FSY on Monday! They are rooming together this year and are excited about their week!
And big news!!! Elden has his license! WOO HOO! He got to drive for the first time by himself on June 11!!! I think he drove to Food Lion, haha. Wow, all my kids can drive...and drive at manual trasnmission at that! Elden picked it up quicker than any of his other siblings. And I must say, he's a great driver!
