Soaking in Summer--School Starts!

The summer flies by and it makes me so sad!!! I love summer. We had so many awesome adventures in 2024.

Shanna was gone for Gracie's birthday so she took her to Claire's and out to ice cream. They both had a fun time. 

Steph's kids start school the beginning of August. She sent me a photo of an "All About Me" poster for James. Love it!!!

Shanna and Haley had fun painting their parking spots and it was a lot of work!  Shanna's is the orange, right next to Haley's.  Haley's is all done!

Elden enjoyed buying and assembling Lego's this summer.

I went to a birthday gathering for my friend Karalee.  Another friend Brenna did the food. WOW. So delicious!

I need to make this very soon!  It's yummy!

Elden has also been enjoying going to McDonald's and getting kid meal prizes, haha. 

We dove in again on the garage addition.  We are pretty much committed!  We are hoping to start this fall, but not sure if that will happen. The lines aren't super correct, but this is where the addition would go. A garage with a family room above, plus two bedrooms and a bathroom. It's going to be expensive but can't wait!!! We need to talk to contractors and get stuff finalized on our plans. I think it's going to take awhile. 

Haley had a good start to marching band!  There was a family preview night. Loved seeing the "first" performance. 

So fun that Shanna and Cal hold records on the track team. 

Shanna was working one night so Lee and I went over to help her on her parking lot as a surprise. 

We laughed that Lee matched her spot so well.

I wanted to go out to breakfast before school started so we picked a day and enjoyed Mr. Js. YUM! Wow, can't believe that the girls are seniors. And even more so that they'll be gone in a year and it will just be me, Lee and Elden. Blows my mind every time I think of it!

It came.....the first day of school!  Exciting, but sad.

On a Saturday we went tubing on the Potomac with the Heits.  Very fun though we didn't anticipate how long the float would be. 

Clark started school later than the other kids, but sent me a first day of school photo!

We invited the Liskey's over to have dinner with us, but the parents had a rally thing to go to. We hung out with their kids and had dinner without the parents.

Friday nights! Love seeing Haley perform. She had a solo too at the beginning which was awesome!  She is loving marching band!

Homecoming dress alterations. 

We snuck in one last boating trip for the summer! The Karren's came and the Erekson's too. It was the start of Labor Day weekend. It was a fun day at Smith Mountain Lake. Love that place! 

We took them to Bridgewater Marina to see the fish. Ellen brought peanut butter...I told her about the fish sucking it off. It's quite the experience!
