Holiday Cheer in Georgia & Ugly Sweaters in Virginia!

The first part of December Elden, Cal and I headed to Georgia to see Reed play in a community band.  I wanted to attend a marching band performance, but that didn't work out.  This was the next best thing.

St. Mary's had a little Christmas celebration going on when Reed's band was playing.  We joined in the festivities.

Even snow was provided!

That night we went to Fernandina Beach on Amelia Island.

Before we took off Sunday morning we stopped by the Taby Ruins.

We had stake conference that Sunday so we listened to it in the car.  Well, Cal and Elden fell asleep part way through.  On the way home we stopped at Sam's in North Carolina to say hello. We had some ramen for dinner and then helped Sam unload his freezer and fridge.  Sadly the night before some crazy guy shot up some transformer stations and the power went out for thousands of people, I'm guessing, Sam included. He brought his freezer stuff up to Daniel's and we also took home some food.

We did our regular Christmas things like the advent calendar and writing Christmas notes to teachers.

We had a fun ward Christmas activity.  This was one of the games.  I couldn't even decipher what some of the clues were even asking! I should have written down the answers, but I couldn't really figure them out!

The Christmas tree had names of everyone in the ward on it and you picked one or more names to do some sort of service for that person during the month.

We bought Haley skis last year and Shanna some skis this year.  Elden still rented some, which we picked up one day.  The normal place I rent them from ran out, but thankfully the local resort did ski rentals for the first time this year and we got them there.  I'll buy him some skis in a couple years probably.

Yum.....hopefully?!

The same patient that gave Lee a fall floral arrangement for his office as a congrats for opening at the new place, gave him this Christmas one too.  So cute and very thoughtful!

Haley prepping this board for her gingerbread house!  She decided to enter a gingerbread house contest.  The theme was Christmas on the Silver Screen.  She decided to do the house from It's a Wonderful Life. And a couple weeks later this can of paint cause me a huge headache....stay tuned....

I'm guessing these pictures are of the girls and Lee from when the rest of us were in Georgia.

Daddy and his girls.

Stake conference that we listened to!

I ordered myself a little copy of A Christmas Carol.  It's so cute!

We bought a new cabinet for the office.  It's still evolving, but most of it's done.  I need to finish painting the window trim so we can hang shades.

We rang the bell again for the Salvation Army!

Here's the house in progress!

The Heits went to Scotland over Thanksgiving and gave us some goodies--candy called "Shrimps & Bananas". Haha, the name is awesome.  SO fun!

Stephanie sent me some yummy spices again!!!!

We did a donation box for the Haven House again.

My friend Connie had a birthday and we went out to eat to celebrate.  She gave me a tour of her new house, which was so fun. I wish they were still in our ward, but it's great seeing them every once in awhile!

The house is all done!

There was a Christmas festival of sorts in our town.  The same time was the gingerbread house contest and display.

Random insert....goodies for friends, teachers and ministering people.

On our way to Shanna's Winter Concert, there was an awful accident. We were at the stop light waiting to turn left where that car is stopped in the middle of the intersection. We were about the 4th car to start to turn left.  There was a green arrow for us, of course.  Well, the car in the intersection started to turn left (again they were about the 3rd car to turn left on the green arrow) and that truck totally ran the red light, went straight, and hit that car. Almost a t-bone hit.  It was crazy. Haley was driving and it rattled us a bit. We were a bit late to Shanna's concert.  Lee went over to see how people were doing, 911 was called and then we headed out.

Okay back to the festival!

We didn't go to the festival, but saw the gingerbread house displays.  We loved seeing them!

Haley won 1st place in her age group and get $100!

We enjoyed some yummy treats too.  The kids had an ugly sweater party that night, and even later Lee and I had a party, but we made it work and hit all three.  In a way it was nice to have everything one night.  It's so crazy around the holidays that sometimes a super busy night is better that having one thing each night, for 3 or 4 nights.

Treat time!  I think it's so fun when patients bring Lee treats!

Fun times with the party.

The white elephant gift exchange.

We made it to the next party for a little bit!  Our friend's John and Tara always host a fun adult Christmas party.

I love the calendars and notes Elden will hang up on the fridge.

Love getting Christmas cards!!!

I thought this was a thoughtful note from my Aunt Evelyn.

Yummy goodies for the holidays!

A few decorations went up at Lee's office!
