Our 2nd annual Sister's Weekend arrived! We've been waiting months for this fun event and we have next year's already in the works! I decided to drive this year and Lois, Blake, Luke and my parents came with me.
A funny bathroom selfie that I sent to Lee, haha.
We headed to Mississippi for the trip this year. While traveling Lee sent me this picture. We had the heat set to 67 but it was so warm out that our house heated up to 75. Nice!
Lee and the kids enjoyed some awesome homemade pizza courtesy of Lee!
Our first big event after arriving at Lena's and receiving a cute schedule and yummy treats, was to pick up Stephanie in Monroe, Louisana. We made a little excursion out of it. We hit up the Chennault Aviation Museum.
Second stop to the Biedenharn Museum & Gardens. These people were huge in the Coke industry.
The Biedenharn's also had quite the collection of Bible artifacts and has an original page from the Gutenberg Bible. Pretty cool!
At the end of our first day we had yummy chicken and waffles at the Rooftop Bar & Grill. Very yummy and my first time having chicken and waffles!
Here is a picture of the rooftop from down below.
That evening we saw Gold in the Hills. It's been a continually running play since 1936! I dosed off here and there at the end. I was hoping there would be some snacks at concessions, but it was just soda.
Day two brought some fun house tours for the Spring Pilgrimage in Natchez, Mississippi.
This lady to the right in white grew up in this house. They even had a cook growing up!
A type of fan to help keep the house cool in the summer.
We hit up Mammy's Cupboard for some yummy desserts!
We also stopped in to look around at an old church in downtown.
And we happened to see our church as well!
After poking around we ended at Pig Out Inn for dinner. Super yummy!
Sunday we spent going to church, eating yummy food, visiting, and a trip to take Stephanie to the airport. It was a great, relaxing day.
Back in Virginia Lee and the kids took a load of our friend's gutted bathroom to the dump. They had a lot of fun throwing the toilets out of the truck. Clark was on a band trip to New York City at the time, hence him missing.
A stop at Speedway was in order!
Cal loves going to a coin store, which Lee took them to that day. Shanna saw a bracelet she really liked that was for sale for $2, but Shanna didn't have enough money with her. As they were leaving the lady came out and gave the bracelet to Shanna. So sweet!
A trip to the river to play around.
They also ventured on a bike ride.
And enjoyed a marshmallow roast. What a fun day Lee had with the kids!
Looks like they had a relaxing Sunday as well.
And Lee found this little black spec in someone's eye. Maybe his own? I'll have to ask.
Thank you Lena for the amazing trip! We had a terrific time!!! We drove home Monday and all arrived back safely. Something I am always thankful for with the thousands of miles that we drive!

The trip to Mississippi was fantastic. Thanks, Lena for the great time, and thanks, Ruth for the ride. Anyone wanting a spring getaway, take in the Spring Pilgrimage in Natchez, Mississippi.
