Spring brings field trips and fun activities. Lee and Shanna went on a date to J-Petal, a Thai ice cream place. She had the ice cream on the last date and decided on a fun drink in a light bulb container.
Elden was on a date with me and we were at the same place, at the same time haha. But we sat in different places. Elden chose the ice cream. It looks so fun!
The finishing on the hallway cabinet was stressful. Like figuring how to join this huge gap.
Field trip time! The girls and I went to the Richmond Children's Museum.
The downstairs was pretty cool with lots of fun sound stations.
We also went to the Confederate White House. Very interesting place.
There was some hands-on learning about the Civil War.
In the Confederate White House.
We finally figured out how to do the trim and fill the gaps. Not very professional, but in a way it fits the "oldness" of our house....the unperfect look.
And one screw for the door pulls had no threads! So weird!
After some hours of caulking, filling and sanding it was finally painting time!!!
What do you think? It feels like it belongs there, which is awesome. The house we rented just across the street is the exact same floor plan as this one; though our house does have two additions. In the rental house there was a cabinet in the hallway. Ever since we moved here we chatted about putting in a cabinet in the same place. 5 years later it happened! If you look real close on the bottom, you can see the slight protrusion in the baseboard. Oh well. We did what we could with our limited knowledge. We wanted to keep the original baseboards to tie everything in, but it was pretty tricky, and the boards weren't long enough.
We enjoy our trips to the Philadelphia temple! We'll be going here till D.C. is open in a couple years.
Cal noticed our toilet paper in the cabinet one day and apparently was inspired, ha ha. So funny and creative!
Some exciting news....we are getting an ALDI! Woot woot!
Cal had a couple of track meets this spring. We enjoyed watching him participate!
Cal and his friend Christopher.
Still did copies once a week!
Take two: field trip with Cal! It was fun going with Cal on this field trip to Dark Hallow Falls in the Shenandoah National Park.
A fun wind speed tester...or something like that. It's trickier to be involved at the middle school, so it was great that they needed chaperones for this trip. I did the same field trip with Clark. Maybe I'll be able to with all the kids! I love that Cal still doesn't mind sitting by me and such and hanging out with me. So fun.

The falls you went to with Cal are beautiful. Glad you could go. And the cupboard looks great.
