The very next morning after we arrived back from our Amsterdam trip we headed to Pennsylvania for Easter weekend and General Conference. We brought lots of eggs! It's fun letting the kids just run and grab as many as they can.
It was a little chilly out bur some of the kids still wanted to get in the river.
We enjoyed watching conference together at Darrell's.
And look! Far left, second lady up is Debbie! We like finding her in the crowd. We were in the same ward in Ely, Nevada several years ago.
My kids diligently took notes to earn a "reward" come that Monday.
That evening the boys and Lee (except Elden) headed to the church building for ice cream and the Priesthood session.
We ladies headed out as well to a local diner for some treats.
We watched the other two sessions also in Pennsylvania. The first session was at my parent's house, the second at Darrell's. We loved hearing all the exciting changes and being part of the Solemn Assembly where we sustained Russel M. Nelson as the new prophet and president of the church. The Spirit was so strong during that!
Not sure why Elden didn't want to smile. Maybe his pickle was too sour?
Cousin time! It was really fun hanging out with Daniel and Amy and family.
We brought these back from the Netherlands to share. So yummy. We tried to bring some jerky back as well, but they confiscated it from us at the airport.
Remember the mini spoons I mentioned? The spoon on the left is a regular spoon. The one on the right, the mini one.
At the mall we visited in Amsterdam we stopped in a store that had a variety of goods from different vendors. Coudn't pass up to cool socks!
The kids had school off on that Monday and Clark went in for braces!
He is doing great with them. And it was great writing the check and paying cash for them off the bat. But knowing us, we wouldn't have done it any other way anyway!
That evening before we sat down and talked about the things we enjoyed from conference we stopped at Food Lion at let each of the kids pick out a treat.
Also for that family home evening we pulled out the gifts for the kids from Amsterdam. We bought them hats and the lady at the store wrapped each one! So cute and LOVE the paper she used.
Love the embellishments Haley did on the Italian Ice box. Too funny, ha ha.
The kids started growing crystals before we left--here's some remnants in the glass.
My surprise trip was a success! The best part of spring break was ending it with family visits and general conference.

Love the photos with you, Lee and the kids with Luke. Had to laugh at Elden's photo. He looks like little Oliver Twist with only a pickle and a chip to eat---and at Grandma's house, no less.
Love your blog.
