Florence

Our full day in Florence!  That morning Lee and I walked about 15 minutes to a laundry place. But when we got we forgot our soap. Soo.....we walked all the way back to the hotel. We got in some extra walking that morning!

You can't go wrong with any of the places we visited, and we loved Florence!
We walked around a little, stopped at some street markets and then went into a building that housed a lot of shops, San Lorenzo.

A bit out of order, but where we ate lunch!

We then went into the Brunelleschi Dome at Santa Maria Cathedral.

It was a cool walk on the way up to the dome and seeing the insides of the tower. Lots of stairs!!!

Quite amazing with all the paintings on the inside of the dome. Some of the figures were very disturbing!

All the way at the top view great views of the city!

On the way down!

Snack time.

More Adidas shoes!

Some cool chess boards and other carvings and art.

Shanna and Haley and I hung out while the boys went to see the replica of the David. Sheldon was going to pay for them to see it in person. I've seen it in photos, and that was enough for me. When I went online that afternoon to get them tickets they were all sold out.

Thought of my niece Lisa.

More shopping!  I think this place everything was 10 Euros.

At the Ponte Vecchio Bridge. There are very fancy shops on the bridge. Super cool.

Ponte Vecchio Bridge.

We ate here for dinner.

It was neat seeing this guy paint the nativity scene from a photo on his ipad.

We then headed to Piazzale Michelangelo to see the sunset. We were a bit late...still saw the sunset. But there were TONS of people at the plaza, so we just found places lower than the plaza to see the sunset.

Beautiful Haley and beautiful view!

By the time we had walked to Piazzale Michelangelo, we were quite far away from our hotel, I think a 45 minute walk. We talked about taking public transportation back or something, but we decided just to walk back. It was a fun walk.

I really enjoyed walking around the city at night with everything lit up.

Like I said, Elden started collecting Fanta!

One more sunset picture.
