Cinque Terre & Pisa

The rooms we stayed at in La Spezia are owned by a restaurant. Sounds like they own a few around the city. In the morning we went back to the restaurant, Bella Napoli, to have breakfast. Also got to store our luggage there for free.

For some reason Clark was grumpy most of the morning.... We bought tickets to ride the train to different spots on the Cinque Terre hiking route.  There are a few towns associated with the hike.

We got off at one train stop....can't remember, and hiked to Manarola.

It was pretty hot that day!

Made it to Manarola!  We explored a little and did a bit more of the hike past Manarola. Some of the kids wanted to go in the water, but ended up not doing that.

This guy was using a motorized cart to haul something up the stairs. Incredible and neccesary!

We had a yummy lunch and did a little more shopping.

Of course, gelato time!

Yep, we were crammed!

Next stop: Pisa!  So cool to see this tower IN PERSON!  We were looking for parking and had pulled over in a gas station. The attendant told us we could park there for 5 euros!  Not sure if he was supposed to talk money from us, but we said yes. Only a few blocks walk to the leaning tower.

One of the funnest things was seeing all the different poses people were doing with the tower in the background. Great place to people watch!

Ahh, the narrow streets of Italy.

Lee was parking in a garage in Florence. We decided to get the luggage out to make it easier.  Also, Shanna, Haley and Clark were trying to get BYU ROC sport passes.  You have to buy them right away because they sell out and they only offer so many. All the way in Italy they were able to get some! Chloe too!

Look at all of the pasta at Lidl!!!  We stayed at a cool hotel called PopArtment. The boys had an amazing room with a balcony.

Dinner in the downstairs lounge.

Fun night walk to get gelato. Some guys were outside playing a guitar or something.

I love how lit up the square was!
