Saturday of Lee's conference I took Lee and Joe to the conference and then headed back. We had breakfast and then went to Birmingham.
We headed to Sheldon's house for a little bit then went out to eat at Hattie B's.
On the way back we had fun stopping at Buc-ees.
That night we picked up the crew and went out to a pizza place in Atlanta. So good!
After dinner we dropped people off at the hotel and train station then went home. We arrived in the wee hours, slept and headed to church. One crazy thing about the hotel is that you had to pay for parking. Every time you left it was a lot! We spent quite a bit on parking those couple of days.
Some of the Buc-ee's haul.
A new emoji!
Haley made homemade biscuits! So delicious!
I made some kale, sausage soup. Yum.
State track meet for Shanna! She competed in pole vault. She did great on 8 feet and 8 and a half. But couldn't get over 9....rats. There was some drama too that hit national news. In the relay a girl hit another girl on the head with the baton. When I looked up I saw the girl stumble off the track. So sad and crazy. There was a lot of mishaps in the relays. Lots of girls tripping and falling and dropping the baton.
Got our plans printed!!! We had to do quite a bit of stuff, and still not done. We had to pay $300 extra for a special zoning meeting because our addition isn't 25 feet back from our property line....We want to build closer to the road, so it's only 18 feet back. We finally had the zoning meeting and found out we got approval. BUT we had to get the property lines removed....for some reason our tiny lot is divided into 3. Even though it's our lot. But we do have 3 separate tax bills. Anyway, to get the lot lines "vacated" we had to use a surveying company. Thankfully, they didn't have to come to our property but could use information online to do that. So that was about $200. Then I had to take the plans to the city clerk to get it recorded. From there it will go to the county real estate office and they will officially remove the lines. But that won't happen for a few months. Again, thankfully, we don't have to wait for it to technically be done. OH and the lot line vacating paperwork...I had to get it notarized. When I took it to the clerk she couldn't accept it because the notary didn't stamp it. So I had to drive back to my town to get the stamp. Thankfully our accountant's secretary is a notary and she was able to stamp it. Then I went back and turned it in. NOW we are just waiting to have the same surveying company come out and mark where our addition will go--called a plot plan. It's to verify that we will actually put the addition where we say we will. Kind of silly. THEN I can give that paperwork to the town, then I can apply for an official application to get a permit. THEN I can tell the county that yes, my town approves the plans and THEN we can get a permit. WHEW.
We got some of these from Sheldon. I bought some at Costco. A Utah company makes them. Pretty fun!
I bought these for our spring break trip when we go to Palmyra!
Such a fun hike. We only did 4 miles though. Hopefully we'll go back and do the 8 mile loop. I think we will this summer to prepare for our Triple Crown hike with Elden this fall.
A favorite change at our house...new outlets with a USB and USB-C! Lee had a tricky time figuring it out but he got it. He thought one of the outlets was bad, so I did an exchange with Amazon. I hadn't send the "bad" one back yet, and Lee realized that it was actually fine. I tried to change the return with Amazon, telling them that the unit wasn't bad, I just needed to send it back. They said I could just keep it and not worry about it.
Lunch with Katherine and Kristy!
So excited!!!
Burgers with the family!
Lee and Shanna had a date and made fried Oreo's. So good and way to rich!
A bit late for New Year's Day, but finally made Scotch Eggs one Sunday morning.

Lee and I enjoyed going to a temple devotional for temple workers in Richmond one Sunday evening. It was powerful being there! Especially during the hymn....singing all together. Wow. There are over 900 people that work at the temple! We each got a little treat to take home. Very fun! We sat by my friend Angela Uber and met her husband. He's an ophthalmologist for the Navy.
Haley picked out and planted these beauties!
All done!!!
Great trip and fun to see Ciera and Sheldon again. Talking with Elder Robertson!
State hoodie!
We did part of the White Oak Canyon hike one Saturday. Stopped at Mr. J's for breakfast.
