If our Africa trip wasn't amazing enough, we had a layover in Paris on the way home! I love seeing what food we get served on the airplane. We really liked flying with Air France.
The people with the Kenya jackets were flying to Paris to hopefully qualify to be on the Olympic volleyball team. So cool!
I'm not sure what it's called, but the Paris subway system was really easy. There is even a stop right at Charles de Gaulle airport! Even better! We took a subway closest to the Louvre Museum. Kids 17 and under are free. We had to wait in standby, but thankfully it only took us a half hour. We are coming back to Paris next year but figured we'd mark this off our list.
Can't believe we're in France!!!
Love the balcony flowers!
Ahh...nice idea for getting furniture into upper floors.
Paris!
The Louvre!
So this guy by Lee...we met him and his wife. Elden had a Provo shirt on. He asked if we were from Provo. We got to talking and found out he has a cabin by Luray! Crazy! And all at the Louvre. In Paris. Oh yeah, we were in France too.
The Mona Lisa! So tiny haha, but fun to see in real life.
Elden wasn't impressed but obliged me with a photo.
We were there about an hour and that was about just right. I'm not a big fan of museums. But it was fun to have a taste!
The Seine!
You have to go to a bakery in Paris. It's the law! I bought a baguette and brought it home!
Always fun seeing eye glasses.
Stephanie told me about this cute chocolate place in Paris. It was yummy!
Chocolate mousse. They also had cute little tubs of ice cream.
We were going to go out to eat but didn't have enough time. We stopped at a grocery store to grab some food. Always fun stopping at them!
The Eiffel Tower!
Boat life!
Elden enjoyed a hot sandwich for lunch.
Legit Parisian.
Back to the airport! We had a 9-hour layover, so not much time.
Elden sad we didn't hit up a French McDonald's. Though I did ask him if he wanted to stop at this one and get something and he didn't.
Paris macarons!
The weirdest Olympic mascot!
Time for another long flight home! 7 hours. Not too bad considering....
I ate some of the baguette and brought some home. Yum.
This was hilarious...a pigeon in the airport. Lee said "I just want to know how he got past security!" Haha.
Time to head back to Virginia!
Airplane food!
Some goodies I got for Clark to celebrate the Olympics.
I got him this bowl as well.
African fabric for my friend Sylvia.
Haley enjoying some cooking at home!
We arrived home on Monday night. Tuesday night we helped our friends the Morris' move. We were sad to see them leave. We loaded a few things into our car to donate for them to a thrift store.
