This summer is turning out to be way too busy, but we'll survive. Next up right after graduation--Trek! Shanna made a couple items to bring which was great. She used some of the dress shirts I bought.
We did a hike as well one morning at the beginning of summer break.
Mr. Berg. Lee bought a gun with Cal's money that Cal will inherit after his mission. Cal is 18, but we won't turn it over to him for a couple more years.
Treating all of the clothes with permethrin. My phone fell off the grill and the screen smashed while I was doing this.
Christian and Liam hung out with us for a few days while their family went on a trip to Williamsburg I think...I can't remember....
At Trek! It was hosted at the Marriott Ranch. It's nice because it's a short adventure...Starts Thursday morning and ends Saturday afternoon.
The Harrisonburg 1st Ward group!
Only person in our family missing was Clark. But we're grateful he's in Japan on his mission! The hardest part about Trek for me and Lee is the skit we have to do in front of everyone at the beginning. I don't mind introducing ourselves, but a skit is a different story.... After the into and skits we were given our "families".
The families each made their own flags. We were blessed with a great group of kids!!!
Caleb Jones & Lizzy Stratford were our big brother and sister.
Aidan Harwood, on the very right, did live in our stake but moved away recently. His family now lives in Worthington, Minnesota which blows my mind! Worthington was only about an hour from Walnut Grove, and my Dad would often go there for high council assignments. Kenny, Haley, Caleb, Aidan
Roll 'em out!
Our wheel started having problems almost right away.
The best part of Trek....Lee and I aren't supposed to pack-up or pull the handcart.
It rained some on Trek, but it didn't last for long, which was really nice.
Friday we crossed the river to a small clearing where we set up camp for a little while. We were there for the rest of the day with games, dinner and a dance. We also stayed for breakfast the next morning, personal time and a testimony meeting.
Pioneer game time!
The kids made cobbler one night and ours turned out pretty well!
The night dance. Too bad it was cut short for some reason.
Shanna's family
Hmm...not sure what happened to mine and Lee's family picture! After the testimony meeting we all got pictures then headed out to the pickup point to get our stuff and head out. On the way home we stopped at a gas station and it was really weird going inside and with wearing our "pioneer" clothes.
It took us a couple hours, but we got packed up to head out on our big, last road trip with Cal before he heads out on his mission. First stop will be Indiana!
Yep...that's how we all feel.
