Father's Day! We missed Father's Day but made sure to leave some goodies for Lee. He also bought some fun stuff for himself.
We left cards, cereal and some socks.
Monday morning we went boating at Lake Patoka. It wasn't super warm in the morning but turned out to be a nice afternoon. Since hardly anyone was there, the guy upgraded up to a double decker pontoon.
And the great bump on my head? While Lee and I were sleeping under the handcart at trek, I woke up one night and forgot the cramped space I was in. I hit my head on the underside of the handcart.
Some fun quotes at Deb's house that I like. I wasn't sure if I could pull this off but I did....driving 7 hours to Deb's after boating all day. Pulled in after midnight I feel like! Then waking up at 5:30am to head to St. Paul to see Ila, my niece. But I did it!
When we left Ila's I forgot my phone or my wallet there. Thankfully she was still in the parking lot, but was headed out to work. She was able to to get me inside and I grabbed whatever I left. I felt bad that she was probably late.
Wow, we made it! We drove to northern Minnesota to go to Angle Inlet. You have to drive through Canada to get to Angle Inlet which is in Minnesota on The Lake of the Woods. We met the Bunkers there, ate dinner, walked around a little and left. It was crazy about entering Canada, leaving Canada and entering the USA again. You had to check in when you arrived at Angle Inlet. There isn't a boarder crossing there so you have to stop at a little station and check in. Or checkin at the restaurant there.
After eating and more picture taking we headed back to the US and stayed at a hotel in Roseau, MN. Like my safety parking? Ha.
The next morning we went back into Canada! This time to pick up Lee and head to Banff. It was a very interesting drive. Shanna fell asleep at the wheel--thankfully I was paying attention. I kept stopping to get gas because I was nervous about being stranded in lonely Canada, haha. I inadvertently snuck my kids into a reservation casino (trying to use the bathrooms!) and we got free dinner and t-shirts at a gas station hosting customer appreciation days. This hockey jersey reads "Elden". Kind of fun!
Off to more adventures!
