The holiday season is always fun and busy. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints did their 25 days of service again. We did 24 days, I think.
One night we rang the bell at the mall for Salvation Army. A friend, Brooklyn, tagged along.
We had fun opening our gift from my sister Lena.
A cute Robertson sign! We hung it above the piano where the little red & white Christmas tree is in the photo.
Clark enjoyed bringing his baritone one night to church. The youth practiced some musical numbers.
We attended a few concerts this holiday season. Clark plays the keyboard in Jazz Band. That was so fun watching him up there!
His band concert followed.
Lee and I hosted our annual Ugly Sweater Party. It was so fun! We had about 20 or so people here. Loved it. I think this was our 4th year hosting?
This gift was a big ball of plastic wrap with 50 gift cards inside. One of them had $50 on it. So fun!
We gave away our cups from Nicaragua that had fake cockroaches on the bottom. I should have taken a before picture. This was the aftermath.....
J.R. won the first ever trophy.
His fireplace was a "real" fire crackling on a phone.
Some of my friends. I should have taken more pictures. Sarah, Susan, me, Katherine, Banita, Kelsey
The kids came down after to scrounge for the fun leftovers.
We need to get new sweaters but these are the ones we wore this year. Creepy hand picture!
We got a little bit of snow the day before the kids' piano recital. Pretty fun they could enjoy it with their cousins, the Heits.
Christmas Piano Recital!
2017 Christmas Piano Recital
Since we weren't going to be home for Christmas we did a fancy dinner with the Heits. I planned on my parents being there too but they didn't come down because of the weather. It was so fun setting the table! I need to work a little better at the centerpieces, but I am trying.
It was also Blake's birthday. I had been saving a present for him all year....a real stuffed frog from Nicaragua. Thankfully he loved it and wasn't disturbed by it!
Clark and baby Luke!!!
We also went caroling one night with Banita and her family. We did this last year and hopefully will keep doing this for years to come!
Haley and Shanna received awards at school for an art contest....Reflections. Haley also won the greeting card contest. She received a set of greeting cards with her drawing on it!
And we can't forget the gingerbread houses! We haven't done this at our house for three years. Lena did them one year at Thanksgiving, Steph did them the next year at Thanksgiving, and last year we did them at Lois'. She did the gingerbread and I did the frosting.
We enjoyed Cal's band concert. A few of the high school students and instructor played in it....so Clark was there!
Lee and I went to his annual work party.....dinner at Ciro's. I enjoyed picking out gifts for the team members and it's always fun to go out to eat.
We loved going to the adult "only" Christmas party at my friend Tara's home. So fun and festive!
Funny enough I wore the same outfit last year, but no one remembered or noticed!
Me and Tara. She is Clark's seminary teacher.
Cal realized he had almost all of the Starburst colors!
Gingerbread house time. We invited Angie & Rachel, Kevin & Katie Whitfield and kids, and the Weilers.
Henry loved the candy!
The kids had been begging to open this envelope and see what was inside. But they always asked right when it was time to go to bed. They finally found a good time and had fun putting together the Nativity from Grandma Robertson.
There was also a court of honor....my first and maybe my last. I am now in Primary and not the Scout Committee Chair. Funny enough the guy with the sweater is the new Scout Committee Chair-Dathan. He'll be excellent.
Cal became a Star Scout! He's on his way to Life Scout!
Nature working its magic.
One night we took cookies to neighbors and said hello.
One morning before school when Clark didn't have seminary, we got up early, grabbed donuts at Krispy Kreme and delivered them to different families in our ward before school for Light the World. It was really fun. We enjoyed some donuts ourselves!
The magic of the holidays!
