School Starts! High School and BYU!

I saw this at a fireside or something snapped a picture.  Cute, and great ideas!

Pokemon cards!

We took a little trip to Maryland to see the Heits.  Fun that Clark could come with us too.

Reed was the lifeguard that day!

No before pic, but an annual straightening of the "pencil box".

The first day of school for Shanna, Haley and Elden.  Elden is in high school now! I love that my kids are all in high school and older.

This group played Skull King before school started that morning.

With Shanna and Haley's birthdays being in May they were able to drive by the time the first day of school rolled around.  Pretty nice!

Breakfast that morning.

A yummy recipe from Katherine Peterson.

Shanna is in cheer again and started the cosmetology program at the local technical center.

The weekend before Clark left Shanna didn't have cheer practice so we went to the Adventure Park in Virginia Beach.  Elden wasn't feeling great and I think Haley wasn't either.  But it was fun going on a little trip before Clark headed out to college.

Virginia Beach!

Off to do self family photos before Clark heads out!

They turned out okay...not my favorite.... I want to hire someone next year.

Clark was able to see a couple people too.  We went out to lunch with Tara Bell.

Had dinner with the Petersons.

Clark enjoying a Virginian morning!

Time to go to BYU and start the first year of college!

Guess what airport we are at?!  Yep!  Vegas, baby.

We brought Clark's bike on the airplane too. After we arrived we picked up the rental car and unboxed Clark's bike in the airport parking garage.  Hopefully the person in charge of trash pickup wasn't too annoyed!  We left all the packaging there and put the bike in the car. It took a little bit, but we made it work.

And we made it to Provo!  So exciting!!!

Clark's home for the next 8 months! Heritage Halls.

Clark checked in (realized that he was supposed to do his student ID well in advance...oops!), got his luggage to the dorm, then we hit up the creamery for dinner.  This couple was out on a date and were so cute and awkward, haha.

We ran into Stephanie's friend from Indiana, Rachel, at the Creamery! Her daughter is a new freshman too.  Rachel mentioned to have Clark and her daughter exchange numbers and the daughter was fine with that, but Clark didn't say yes or anything....so haha, awkward moment for us!  I wasn't going to push him to get her number.

Yum....creamery ice cream!

Pretty fun rental car!

The new Orem temple (if I remember right!).

I also didn't think about having Clark sign up for new student orientation and I'm so glad he did.  While he was doing that I walked up to Wymount where Lee and I lived and the to the Provo Temple. Clark also lived in Wymount for a few months!

If I remember right we were the middle apartment on the left.

The Missionary Training Center!

The Provo Temple!  Lee and I were married and sealed here.  It will be torn down next year--they are building a new temple in its place.  I hope we can come back again before they close it!

Love all the activities on campus!  BYU is so fun!

We did a little shopping at the bookstore too.  I love the bookstore a bit too much!

We walked past Anthony, my cousin Grant's son...did a double take then called out to him.  It was him!  So fun!

I LOVED this!  We parents got to sit off to the side and then all the new students made the Y.  So cool!

Not sure who is to the left of Clark, but the other guy is Gid.  He and Clark both served in the Kobe mission together--never companions though--and ended up in the exact same apartment at Heritage Halls.  What a blessing from God!

The students walking over to the soccer game.  I did a Costco run.

After soccer some went over to the volleyball game and I picked up Clark there.

At the Cougareat.  Not sure what this place is called now, but it was the Sugar-n-Spice.  I worked there one summer with Lena.

And I worked here too.

While I was in Provo with Clark I stayed at Roger's house.  One morning I went to Trader Joes and grabbed some dark chocolate peanut butter cups.  And of course they melted.

Last day together!  So excited for his upcoming year.

One afternoon for lunch I spent time with a missionary that I trained--Kristin!  So fun to see her again!

I had a great trip with Clark.  I just wished we would have taken the extra effort to have Lee come.  He was going to, but then the other kids wanted to come too, so I decided to just come myself. Loved being in Provo with the BYU spirit and fun and seeing Roger and Kristin!
