Wow, the summer is just flying by! We did a little family adventure one Saturday that Clark didn't have to work till the evening. First we headed out to the Natural Bridge and walked the short trail.
We spotted a couple of snakes sunbathing!
By the Natural Bridge there is an unknown river--I can't remember the official name. But they don't know the source of the water which Haley is standing by. Kind of weird and cool.
We then went to St. Mary's Wilderness. Along the trail there are places to swim around and jump off ledges. We weren't prepared to go swimming but it was fun to hike in and see it anyway.
Cal was the only one who jumped and took the plunge.
Second time around.
We ended the day at Wright's Dairy-Rite in Staunton. We had to wait way too long, but the food was yummy. We accidentally skipped lunch as we hadn't planned on the Natural Bridge and St. Mary's to take so long.
The next say on Sunday we headed up to Maryland to hang out with the Bartholomews and Heits and my parents for the afternoon.
On the 495 the Mercury started over heating and we had to pull over. We said a prayer, cranked the heat and added some water. The coolant was low. Thankfully we made it to the Heits and made it back home. Our Suburban is still getting fixed, thus the use of the Mercury to take us to Maryland.
Cal's big day came to get braces!
Poor guy, his teeth hurt for several days. But he is being a good sport.
We headed up to Cunningham Falls State Park one day. There is a lake and a beach area. We brought the kayaks as well. It would be fun to camp there sometime.
And what is summer without random pumpkins growing in your yard?!
Shanna got two new pair of glasses this summer!
Late one summer night the kids seemed to decide all at once that they wanted a snack. They each did something different.
Clark is still ticking away at the Celica! And learning a lot!
