Memorial Day Weekend 2020

Thankfully Memorial Day weekend felt pretty normal for us.  We headed up to Pennsylvania to spend time with Darrell and family, the Heits and my parents.

A random photo...a great view from the Shenandoah National Park.

Saturday we floated down the creek that runs behind Darrell's house.  We go to a drop-off point and end up at his backyard.

They found some critters in the river...like this cute turtle.

Cousin time is awesome!

My kids love playing with the cousin's pet hamsters and bunnies.

You know just a couple of branches stuck in some power lines...

Another pretty Shenandoah Park view.

Sunday and Monday we spent up with Darrell and family as well. We had church together that afternoon with of course cousin time in the morning.

We went to my parents that afternoon for dinner and my kids had fun at looking at some of Sheldon's stuff.  He is a cool uncle to them.

Monday we went on the river again and played games.  I went out with some of the kids.  We made it to a park and I called Darrell to have him come pick us up.  He was not happy about that because he had just started a game and apparently we hadn't been gone long enough.

I left Cal and Elden at Darrell's for a few days and Jessica came home with us.  These guys headed to Dollar Tree quick to buy treats for their own party that night.  I needed a mask picture.

The boys had fun at Darrell's and Jessica seemed to enjoy being with us in Virginia.  One night we got ice cream at Karen's in Shenandoah.  It's so yummy!

We are seriously considering adding a garage to the side of our house with living space up above.  We've talked to a handful of contractors now and are in the planning stages.  We'll see!

The garage would be added on to this side.  The downside of the house is that it has only sideyards.  the backyard you can see--barely.  See the garbage can on the bottom right?  And see the wire fence and fence post?  That is our neighbors fence.  And the garbage can is ours.  The width of our backyard is 4 feet 11 inches.

The two black parallel lines represent two different garage widths.  The one closest to the house is 18 feet, then 20 feet.  Right now the plan is 20 feet.  The line close to the Nerf toy is the farthest out a garage could come as well as a front porch.

The girls painted nails and did other activities together like making sugar cookies and doing mud masks.

I'm not sure what the H & R are for...?

Lee took Haley on a daddy-daughter bike ride.

And we took a picture of Clark at work.  It's always fun seeing him there!

Shanna had a variety of touch-my-feet-on-something pictures.

My friend's mom died in June so we brought over some goodies for her and her two kids.

I loved this bumper sticker I saw at Chick-fil-A.

Shanna created a little movie.  She played the hero and the villian. It was very cute!

Shanna acting like how we feel in different stages of quarantine!!!  Hope you all had a terrific Memorial Day.  I am so thankful for the women and men who sacrificed their lives for out country!
