Why does summer go by so quickly? We try and pack as much into it as we can though!
The kids had fun at a church youth night when Clark brought in some synthesizers.
Darrell and Stacie and family also stopped by for a visit. We were able to let them come to a marching band potluck and show preview. We enjoyed having them here for a couple of days.
Of course we need a parent's night out!
We also took them to Shenandoah on a hike to Dark Hollow Falls.
We went swimming for a little bit and also to a park.
I think Lee took this picture. Clark loves babies and it melts my heart!
Cal became a Life Scout!!!
And a Lego creation by Cal.
On a Wednesday in August we were going to go water skiing with our friends, but their daughter had the chicken pox. Lee already had the whole day off so we jumped into planning mode and decided to do some things in DC. First stop, breakfast at Dunkin' Donuts.
We walked over to the zoo.
We drove over to the National Air and Space Museum in Chantilly.
The kids enjoyed the flight simulators.
It was pretty cool seeing this space shuttle up close. I didn't know it was so "pieced" together.
On the way home we stopped at a go kart place.
We made it back in time for Cal to participate in a scout activity at a fire station. He now has only two merit badges left along with his Eagle Project!
One random day we stopped at Costco so I could buy something. I splurged on a frozen yogurt which we all split.
Lee also helped out at a Ruitan booth at the county fair.
