What a nice Fall is has been! I already posted about our anniversary trip, but I found a couple more pictures I wanted to post.
The store we stopped at and bought ice cream had these neat rocking picnic table/chair things. The bench seats and table all moved at the same time, back and forth, back and forth. It was really neat, and shaded! The Bird in Hand Bake Shop.
Can you tell that the upper windows have the half green hunter shades? A sign of an Amish house.
Another store we visited in Stasburg. It had a live beehive.
Fun anniversary trip! So, the first part of fall Haley was in charge of the lesson for our weekly Family Home Evening. She did it all herself! She made a tree and leaves. She had us write on the leaves things we were grateful for. Loved the lesson.
Another first of Fall event was Cal's rain gutter regatta. He put the boat together all by himself. I didn't do a single thing. When he saw the cool boats at the activity he thought his didn't look cool, and therefore probably wouldn't win. Well, guess who won? Cal!
The happy winner!
Elden had a field trip---yep we are in field trip season!--to Back Home on the Farm.
I went on the tunnel slide too. It's pretty fun!
A fun field trip! I left early because of the Race for Education. I mailed off the mailers that day. Boy was that stressful. Thanks Lee for helping me with that! Thankfully the lady at the post office helped me out. Probably more than she should have........
And some other pictures I found....Lee wearing his BCGs--his Army issued glasses. Have you heard that term for these glasses? Do you know the acronym? Should I leave you hanging?
Lee recently was put in as a counselor in the bishopric. Since we were gone the weekend when the new Bishopric was put in place, Lee was set apart the next Sunday. His dad and nephew Nathan kindly made the big trip to Virginia! I should have taken more pictures but didn't. We loved having them here. Too bad the weather wasn't that great. It was really special having Lee's dad ordain him to the office of High Priest. That was really special. Thanks for coming Dad and Nathan!
That Saturday morning they were here Lee made German pancakes for breakfast. YUM! The mini ones were cute.
Lee worked that day and later that afternoon we headed up to Shenandoah National Park. We stopped at the Big Meadows center too.
That same night (busy day!) the girls attended their first General Women's Meeting! They were very excited to go. Haley fell asleep in the first song, I think.
Dessert before the broadcast.
Sunday was a nice day as always! We enjoyed church, visiting, eating and being together.
Again, thanks for making the long trek out to Virginia Dad and Nathan! Come again soon!
Cal and Elden dressed up as Ninjas one afternoon.
There was a milk week or something at school and one day the kids could dress like a cow.
Fall is going too quickly!
