The last field trip of the year happened! I was very glad that I could go on so many field trips, but I must say, they are very exhausting. Which is funny because I just stand around, ha ha. This was one of my more favorite field trips. The second graders split up and our group first went to the gift shop and little museum area. I wasn't planning on buying anything for the girls at the gift shop, and usually gift shop stuff doesn't last long around here anyway. I did give in when they asked for a piece of candy for 25 cents. I let them get just one each. Yep, I'm a big spender! I did find a fun birthday present for my brother-in-law--some cheese spread with Elk meat.
It seems like I've seen this symbol before...maybe not. But the perimeter is made of five bats! Guess they are good luck in China!
We then got to go into the caverns. Apparently this cavern was discovered when a farmer lost an animal trap. He found that it had sunk into the ground. Upon further exploration he found the caverns.
It was fun seeing places where they would hold weddings and dances back in the 50s. Wish they would still do dances there today!
After the tour we had lunch and lots of play time at the park. It was a very pretty day!
The school year went by so fast!
