We had another fun day at Legoland. We got to the park a little bit after it opened and already we could tell that more people were there. It was a Saturday so we weren't surprised.
After we walked past the gates Elden wanted to meet a Chima character. No one else did so I stayed behind and we decided to meet up at a certain spot. Elden and I waited in line a little bit and then I waited in another line to get waterpark tickets. Thankfully a Legoland employee walked by and I asked her if I was in the right line to get a waterpark ticket. She said I bought them at the waterpark. Nice! Elden and I quickly left. We headed over to the roller coaster where we were going to meet them, but I took a way that we'd never been. Funny enough it was a pretty big shortcut because as Elden and I were finishing up the ride, we saw everybody else. So Elden and I decided to go again because there wasn't a line.
The main items for the day were to check out Driving School and do a couple other rides that we had missed the day before because of the rain. After that it was off to the waterpark. I am glad we went ahead and did the rides first. It rained again that afternoon!
Elden went to Jr. Driving School while Lee headed over with the older kids for Driving School. Elden was the only kid there.
All the kids enjoyed driving school. They had a "class" beforehand to teach them rules about driving.
Another roller coaster ride. Sadly Elden wasn't tall enough for this one.
This boat ride was fun because the boats weren't on any type of rail. You just got to drive them around.
Next up the waterpark! When I originally looked at tickets to Legoland I was thinking about going over Christmas break. My kids also wanted to go to the waterpark, but it closes late in the year. Asked them if they wanted to go over Christmas or wait till they could go to the waterpark....the waterpark won out. During September the waterpark is open only on Saturdays, which worked out well. The lazy river was pretty fun. The kids enjoyed grabbing floating bricks and building things on their tubes.
We had fun the wave pool too. Bricks were also floating around.
I loved this little island.
Someone had built this and let Shanna have it when they were leaving. It floated!
We were able to do everything at the waterpark, and about that time there was lightening and thunder so the waterpark was closed. No rain yet so we went to the miniworld again and bought ice cream cones again.
Though we most likely won't go to Legoland again, when I bought the waterpark tickets it ended up being the same price to buy the waterpark tickets or get an annual pass. So, we can go to Legoland as much as we want in the coming year! Too bad it's so far away! We also get 10% off at all restaurants (I forgot to use it on the ice cream!) and all the stores.
The rain started coming down so we headed into a store that had a horticulture/garden center on the back.
The combine spun around! It was pretty fun in the garden room.
Look who saw me in the crowd at the garden place--a friend from Eastern Tennessee, Belinda Mathson. She was at Legoland with her family and her brother. I'm glad she recognized me as I wasn't paying attention to the other people there. It was fun to say hi!
Also because of the rain we decided to go to the 4D movie theater. One day 1 I saw the theater and didn't want to go there because I thought it would be a full-length film. But we found out it was only 15 minutes. The movie was in 3D and then there were special effects for the audience--midst when the movie characters were going through a waterfall, blowing air when they were traveling fast in the sky, heat when by a fire, etc. It was pretty cool! There were bubbles too that came out at one point.
After that we let the kids each spend some money. Normally our kids would save up for a few months for a big trip like this, like when we went to Utah. But since it was a surprise and a reward for accomplishing our goal, it was fun splurging a tiny bit and letting the kids each buy some stuff. And we got 10% off with our annual pass! Everyone got, guess....Legos! Except Shanna. She did not get a single brick.
I must say, I really like Cal's RV.
We had a yummy dinner at Chick-fil-A that night and hung out at the condo. I took Clark, Haley and Shanna swimming at the complex pool. We didn't stay too long because it was already dark out, and I saw a sign when we got there that the pool closes at dusk. Whoops! I think Lee watched a BYU game that night and we cleaned up and organized some for our trip home. I also made a stop at Aldi for some food for our Sunday drive home.
Sunday morning we "checked" out of the condo and headed to church in Orlando. We enjoyed the meetings there. I am not sure why buy Shanna and Haley weren't in Junior Primary. Their age groups were having Sunday school. So Elden ended up being the only Robertson in singing time. He didn't mind one bit. It has helped that we've been to lots of different wards this summer and fall! After church we headed North back to Virgina.
We arrived home about 2am and snuck in a couple hours of sleep before school and work. It was better than getting home at 8am from Iowa. We had such a great trip to Legoland. As much as I would love to go back, it's just so far away. (The kids keep asking.) Plus we have so many other places we want to take the kids that I don't see us going back anytime soon. Thanks Florida. We had a great time!

So can you use your Legoland annual passes at any Legoland or just FL. They are all over the U.S. we went to Legoland FL. It's no where near the same size but still fun. They have one in Atlanta and Kansas. And many more locations.
