Cal had his golden birthday the other day. Wow, I can't believe I have a 9-year old and also a kid that will be entering middle school. Sort of weird!
This year Cal has made it known that he does NOT like frosting OR fondant. He did not want either of those on his birthday cake. I was kind of disappointed because that is how I make cute cakes! He wanted a picture of a TNT mod for Minecraft. So, I did the best I could with my un-artistic free hand drawing skills. (Well, lack of skills that is!) Luckily we already had white chocolate on hand and I colored some of it red. Cal really liked the cake, so that is success, right?!
Cal had a little friend birthday party during the day. His good friend from church came. He invited four other kids from school but none of them came. Maybe some other time. We don't have hardly any friend parties anyway. I am glad his one friend came though.
That night for his family birthday party he wanted to light the candles. I think three times when he blew out the match, he blew out the candles too, so funny.
It was finally all lit up. Our friend Mindy came over too for the celebration and Cal received a fun bag of goodies, drawing items, silly putty and a slinky from her and her husband.
Night time fun on the trampoline with a fun dad and a fun uncle.
We gave Cal his own Minecraft program (not sure why he wanted it as Clark already has one...but whatever), two Lego Mixels, and Lee gave Cal a Minecraft pig.
I didn't notice till I uploaded this picture to flikr that I am showing Cal that he has chocolate on his face and I am showing him where, ha ha. Thanks Lee.
My wonderful birthday boy. I went to the end of the year awards for the rest of the elementary school and Cal was recognized for being a part of the "Caring Club" at school. A perfect fit for him. Cal is everyone's friend at home. He enjoys hanging out with everyone in his family and has always been a sweet child. Isn't he so cute?! Happy Golden Birthday Cal!
