A couple weekends ago we drove out to a maple tree farm (or whatever you want to call it). A nearby county hosts a Maple Festival every spring. Turns out there are about five or so places that "harvest" the sugar water from maple trees in that country. I only knew about Eagle's Sugar Camp, so that is where we went.
Before heading to Eagle's Sugar Camp, we stopped at a fun park that I had told Lois about.
Lois, the amazing multi-tasker!
We met up with Lee after he was done with work. The drive was very pretty and hilly and windy...I requested that I drive back. Ever since I've had Elden I get carsick very easily. Even after Clark was born I couldn't handle amusement park rides like I used to, but now it seems even worse. So it wasn't Lee's driving, it was just my body feeling weird.
At Eagle's Sugar Camp
Lee and I bought some maple sugar coated pecans. They were delicious! Mr. Eagle (the owner of the camp) came to the local fall festival last year selling maple syrup and candy. I hope he comes again this fall. I need to save my pennies so I can buy some yummy maple syrup! I remember living in Wisconsin when I was a little girl and I went to a maple "farm" on two different occasions. It seems that one time I went with my school. At the end we all got vanilla ice cream with maple syrup. Oh so good! I know I went with my family and enjoyed it very much. I don't think we'll go to the maple farm next year, but for sure in a few years we'll have to make another trip!
