We did a little decorating for Halloween and added some pumpkins to the new built-ins. I think it turned out cute.
The girls completed the FCCLA projects and I accompanied them to the state fair.
They saved up their money to pay for their own ride wrist band--they could go on as many as they wanted. I just watched.
Here is Shanna's table!
Here is Haley's apron! Maybe I didn't talk about it earlier, but they had to make an FCCLA themed item to bring to the fair to have judged.
FCCLA colors are red and black so we pulled out the Disney World shirts!
This fall, Lee had his 10 year reunion from graduating optometry school in Memphis. We headed to the big event. First we stopped at the different hospitals that Cal, Shanna and Haley were born at.
********
Then we HAD to make a stop to our old apartment. We showed the kids where Lee was held up at gun point.
-
The guys made him lie flat on his face where Lee is standing. Then they drove off with his wallet, backpack and our van...
We dropped Lee off at the Southern College of Optometry. He took some continuing education classes that weekend. The rest of us headed to downtown Memphis to hangout during the day.
Can you see SCO in the distance?!
The kids and I parked and walked around downtown.
We wanted to do a trolley ride but also wanted to see the ducks at the Peabody Hotel. The trolley ride had to wait.
Elvis is in the house! Or outside....
Of all the cars Clark could have taken a photo of in Memphis he snapped a picture of this one, ha ha.
The ducks at the Peabody Hotel!
Interesting street name. I need to find out why it was named that.
I asked a lady at the Peabody for a lunch stop recommendation. She told us the Blue Plate Cafe. It was yummy!
We walked next door to a "create-your-own-cupcake" shop. Loved it!
Next up was Mud Island.
The Mud Island River Park is so fun.
The homes are so gorgeous there.
The Pyramid in Memphis is now the flagship store for Bass Pro Shop. Super cool store!
A little pool time before meeting up with Lee and going to the dinner at the school.
SCO had a dinner, treats and fun stuff for the kids. I met a few of Lee's classmates.
Family photo!
We took off from the school and did our trolley ride.
The trolley we ended up on was just a one-way jaunt. So we had to walk back to where we parked the Chevy, haha.
Walkin' in Memphis...
The next morning Lee had another CE class. He went to that, the kids swam, then we picked him up and drove to St. Louis. It was fun listening to conference on the way up and hearing the announcement about 2 hour church! That evening in the St. Louis area went to the Women's general conference session with my sister-law Shawna, Deb, Lena and all our girls.
On Sunday we watched the first session at Sam's then headed for home. We had a fun visit to Memphis and with family! We love hearing about all of the changes our church recently--The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It's so exciting!
