The day before Thanksgiving was a fun day. First off, it snowed!!! There was a really nice snowfall, and with really no where to go, it was great. All of my family had already arrived or came that morning for Thanksgiving. The big weekend we had been anticipating for weeks finally arrived! There were 12 adults and 34 kids.
While we were reading scriptures that morning some kids were looking out the window watching the snow fall. It was one of those magical moments where we were all cozy and warm with family, while snow was falling!
The kids had a great time playing outside!
At one point Shanna came inside asking for a carrot. I had no clue why she wanted to bring a carrot outside. Ha ha. My sister Deb totally knew---for the snowman's nose!
The makings of the boys' snow fort.
We siblings agreed that we didn't want the kids to be on "electronics" while they were together. There was a lot of playing together, games and just plain fun!
Darrell brought his fun golf peg game. Deb and I were on a team and were incredibly behind. At the end we almost won! But didn't....
You all get to see my glorious laundry room/fake garage. There were lots of coats and gloves and boots out.
We had lots of pies waiting out there too for the big day.
Cousins!
That night we were all together for dinner and gingerbread houses. The past couple of years I've done gingerbread houses with my friends. But since my family was going to be in town we decided to do it with them this year. It was so fun. Thanks everyone for bringing the candy! Growing up I always looked forward to making gingerbread houses with my family. It's fun passing this tradition on to my kids!
My oldest brother Darrell made a really cute little Santa and snowman.
That morning I bought three newspapers for the black Friday ads! We love looking at the real ads, even though we had looked at some or all of them online. We also broke out some chocolate covered peppermint Joe Joes. Mmmm....
