It's been a fun and exciting summer, to say the least. We are sad that we have only two weeks left! Something momentous happened Friday. We replaced the BMW as the status symbol of choice. Though, owning a BMW has never been a status symbol for either of us! (Lee thinks it's pretty cool driving his '97 Mercury minivan around...seriously, no joke!) And we don't own a BMW either and never will till maybe all our kids are out of the house--that is the running joke. Even then, maybe not. Confused? Head on over to Dave Ramsey's radio show and you'll know what I'm talking about. It's exciting and surreal!
To celebrate we headed to Pizza Hut Friday night.
We were going to go t-bowling (duckpin bowling) too that night, but it was closed.
I thought this piece of mail was so funny--an offer for a platinum credit card. Especially since it arrived on Friday. US Bank doesn't want me to leave, do they? We had our mortgage through USBank. We haven't had credit cards for a few years now. It was just funny. Not sure if this applies to the word "ironic" or not but it was funny.
Round two-we went t-bowling Saturday night and they were open! The pins and the bowling balls are small.
The bowling balls don't have any holes in them actually.
We had a fun time there. It was nice we didn't have to rent shoes either. It was $15 for all of us for one game. Too bad though that someone was smoking in there. And it was musty. If we ever go again, it will be for a private party. We smelled really gross afterwards!
We were going to let the kids pick out snacks to buy because apparently they are really cheap at the bowling place. Clark went there on a field trip. They had run out of snacks and apparently don't restock over the summer. We decided to go to 7-11 and let everyone get an extra-large slurpee. Over kill, yes. But we were celebrating a once in a lifetime moment! It was cute hearing the kids during family prayers saying they were thankful for the slurpees--the extra-large ones.
Clark tore up the chart I used to keep record since the beginning of the year. It was taped on the bedroom wall.
Shanna helped too.
We feel so very blessed and grateful to Heavenly Father. I'm thankful for my friend Ashley introducing me to Dave Ramsey's radio show too! And of course, thanks Lee for all of your hard work!
